Sat 21 April - Exeter Phoenix - Doors: 10:30am
As part of this year’s A2D 2012, this 90 minute seminar will provide an in-depth look at the art of music for film trailers, featuring composer Timo Baker.
Timo will give a detailed account of his creative process, composing techniques and how he approaches this type of work, illustrated with examples from the trailer for The Adjustment Bureau, a new thriller from writer-director George Nolfi, based on a short story by Philip K. Dick.
Film trailer music is a rapidly-growing – and often overlooked – area of work for composers and requires a different approach to other media commissions. Timo will also talk about the pitching and commissioning process, all illustrated by full audio and visual media, from initial commission through to the finished soundtrack. Get all the lowdown from this highly creative and versatile composer who has composed music for Universal, CBS, BBC, Channel 4, National Geographic, MTV, Sony Playstation, among others, during a career that has spanned twelve years.
