ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
2010 was the ninth Two Short Nights Film Festival and showcased some of the most exciting and diverse short films from the UK and around the world.
The much anticipated 2010 Exeter Phoenix Digital Short Film Commissions were premiered on the Friday of the fesitval to a sell out auditorium. There was also a chance to see the award winning films from last year's Bristol-based Encounters Film Festival, the largest short film festival in Europe, featuring an exciting selection of shorts from Mexico, Italy, Australia and the UK, to name a few.
For the third year we hosted the highly popular '48 Hour Film Challenge' where twenty five teams battled it out to produce an award winning film in just one weekend. Selected films produced during the challenge were premiered on the Thursday night of the Festival at another sell out screening.
On Thursday night the festival also screened some specifically selected films from Future Shorts and the International Open Screening which included films covering subjects ranging from beautifully choreographed dance to high energy SFX Sci-Fi, humorously reworked archive film montage to politically relevant commentary and bizarre surrealism.
During the day on Friday we ran a day long workshop designed to introduce you to the skills needed in the world of digital filmmaking and on Friday night there was the festival's award ceremony followed by an after party of drinks, networking and a little bit of dancing in the café bar.
2010 had record turn out and tickets sold out in advance as expected.
